Our Client has a requirement for a Finance Assistant, who will be required to work on a temporary, full time basis in Derby.
Role Purpose:
This role provides an opportunity to work in our Transportation business, this will require working with both our Local Transport & Strategic Rail finance teams as well as the business operational teams.
Job Role Responsibilities of a Finance Assistant:
- Record and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Support our Market Operations teams and respond to any ad-hoc requests from them.
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
- Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
- Prepare monthly accounts reconciliations and resolve any outstanding items
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts & annual budgets
- Ensure that new projects opened in the business comply with both Internal & External governance controls
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Previous experience within finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong excel skills.
- Strong data skills. Able to interrogate large quantities of complex data quickly and efficiently and provide meaningful insights.
- Articulate with excellent communication skills
