Senior Offshore Structures Engineer

Initial 12 Month Contract

Outside IR35

Fully remote working

A Senior Offshore Structures Engineer is required to work for a large Oil & Gas company on an initial 12 month contract basis that will provide the opportunity to work outside IR35.

As part of the policy to work outside IR35, you will be able to work on a fully remote set up.

Responsibilities

  • Execute structural analysis for offshore substructures and topsides.
  • As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will study and define the best technical solutions for offshore structures (both substructures and topsides) during various stages (feasibility, FEED, detail design).
  • Review technical documentation and analyses produced by others.
  • Awareness of structural design standards and correct application of Company HSEQ policies.
  • Awareness of marine operations and naval interfaces with structural design.
  • As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will liaise with other disciplines during project execution for the execution of assigned tasks.
  • To prepare and review all technical documentation related to Structural Design activities during the different phases of the Project, such as Conceptual Study, FEED, Tender and Contract package preparation, detailed engineering, and Operations.
  • As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will review Bidder Calls for Tender & Selection (qualifications, clarifications, recommendations, etc.) when applicable for structural aspects.

Candidate's qualifications, professional experience and skills required for the position

  • Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline such a Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Structural Engineering or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering (with focus on structures).
  • As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will have demonstrable experience in design of structures in all project phases (feasibility study, FEED, detailed engineering, and Operations).
  • Proficient usage of the following software: DNVL SESEM Suite, USFOS, ANYSYS, SACS, STAAD.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other disciplines as required to perform assigned tasks due to multidisciplinary approach to Projects.
  • As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will be able to handle highly complex and diverse tasks while applying a high level of independent judgement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong experience in analysis and design of offshore structures, in accordance to ISO1900 series, API RP2A, AISC, DNV codes.
  • As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will have the ability to create and verify FEM models of fixed offshore structures.
  • Experience in the definition and design of foundation systems.
  • As the Senior Offshore Structures Engineer, you will have experience in re-design and assessment of brownfield structures, life extension, reliability analyses, with a strong attitude towards problem solving and capacity to make critical choices.
  • Experience in design for non-linear analyses, blast, dropped objects, impact, redundancy, pushover analyses.
  • Experience with floaters design.
