A leading multi-disciplinary design & build contractor is looking for a Proposals Engineer to estimate and prepare proposals for their MCCs/Switchboards/Control Panel (LV) offerings. You will evaluate, prioritise, and deliver high quality, competitive proposals, collaborating closely with clients and engineering teams. The company operate across utilities, power, nuclear, chemical, pharmaceutical, energy and food & drink sectors.
This role is based out of their Warrington office (hybrid) on a permanent staff basis working 3 days in the office and 2 days from home with ad-hoc travel to other offices to fulfil duties.
Key Responsibilities: Proposals Engineer
- Participate in the Proposals function for the department, liaising with the sales team.
- Review tender/enquiry documentation for effective bid/no-bid decision-making.
- Collaborate internally and externally to gather accurate information/quotations for proposals.
- Prepare precise and competitive proposal documents using standard templates.
- Ensure proposals are reviewed and approved as per authorisation procedures.
- Present clear proposals that protect company commercial and contractual interests.
- Attend project kick-off meetings to transition successful proposals to the execution team.
- Co-ordinate site meetings to assess client requirements, adhering to H&S standards.
- Report significant commercial, technical, or contractual risks to senior management.
- Implement continual improvements to enhance proposal quality and efficiency.
- Assist in developing tools for clear cost and scope capture.
- Maintain and update the Company Project Portal with follow-ups and competitive positions.
Key Requirements: Proposals Engineer
- Proven experience in estimating electrical/control panels and MCCs.
- Strong technical knowledge of control systems, electrical/control panels, and MCCs.
- Ability to relate to clients and understand their needs.
- Competence in meeting client timescales and estimating project costs.
- Effective communication skills at all levels within the organization and with clients.
