Role Profile

 

We are currently looking for a Site Manager to work on a substation/converter station site based in Lanarkshire.

As the Site Manger you will be required to work with limited support in the management of significant ground investigation works and an archaeological survey which will be carried out concurrently over a five week period. The works will be carried out by specialist subcontractors with significant previous experience in their fields.

These works are to inform the designs / planning for a very large substation / converter station site for Scottish and Southern Energy.

The works will be undertaken on agricultural land located near Longside several miles west of Peterhead in Northeast Scotland.

The successful candidate will be required to conduct inductions and daily briefings and undertake direct engagement as may be necessary with the local farmers / land owners. Strong communication skills are subsequently essential.

As the Site Manager will ideally have had exposure to such works previously, but this is not essential. The Site Manager will however require civil engineering or utilities experience, ideally of no less than five years and process the following minimum qualifications:

  • Current SMSTS
  • Current CSCS Managers Card
  • NRSWA Street Works Supervisor Certification or IOSH Avoiding Danger from Underground
  • First Aid Appointed Person Training
  • Usage of RD8000 and TX3 or similar
