Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Site Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a Site Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing costs, evaluating works, and ensuring the successful execution of construction projects. Your expertise in civil work, electro-mechanical subcontracting, and HV substations will contribute to the overall efficiency and safety of our site operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Cost Evaluation: Assess and manage project costs by calculating material quantities, labour expenses, and achievable project timeframes.
  • Monthly Quantity Follow-up: Regularly track and reconcile quantities to ensure accurate cost value reconciliation (CVR).
  • Subcontractor Payments: Review and analyse subcontractor applications for payment, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
  • Expertise in RICS NRM2: Utilize your familiarity with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) New Rules of Measurement (NRM2) to enhance cost control.
  • HV Substations Construction: Leverage your experience in constructing high-voltage (HV) substations to oversee related projects.
  • Project Completion: Having completed at least two HV substation projects in full, you’ll contribute valuable insights to our team.
  • Legal and Safety Compliance: Advise on legal matters, monitor subcontractors’ safety practices, and ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on costs, progress, and any changes impacting project expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 HV substation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of RICS NRM2 and construction industry practices.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to manage subcontractor contracts.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive in cost management.
