Role
We are seeking a skilled Site Engineer to join our dynamic Construction Team in Birmingham. As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the on-site execution and control of engineering works. Your responsibilities will include monitoring project progress, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards, and reporting on key performance indicators.
Key Responsibilities:
Health, Safety & Environmental
- Produce Task Briefing Sheets.
- Contribute to the Permit to Dig documentation.
- Conduct safety briefings and site inspections.
- Identify hazards and assist in developing Safe Systems of Work (SSoW).
Engineering Control
- Perform setting out using primary control.
- Produce and interpret sketches, drawings, and specifications.
- Maintain and manage survey equipment and records.
Quality Assurance
- Create as-built drawings and quality check sheets.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries and photographs.
- Compile handover documentation and ensure compliance with construction tolerances.
Productivity & Commercial
- Monitor actual material usage and reconcile with theoretical quantities.
- Assist in collecting data for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Produce daily diaries of resources, including labor, plant, and materials.
- Recognize and document additional works, ensuring budget adherence.

- Subcontractors
- Occasional interface with the Client
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Proven experience in setting out techniques (level & EDM, GPS).
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schedules, and specifications.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
- Current driving license and CSCS Card holder.
Desirable:
- Emerging leadership skills.
- Progress towards professional accreditation (e.g., ICE, IHT).
