Role
Role: Mechanical Inspector
Location: Fawley, UK
Duration: Immediate start until end of January or possibly February 2025
Working Patterns:
- Preferred: Monday to Friday, daytime shifts
- Alternative: 10 days on / 4 days off shift pattern (for those traveling from afar)
Scope of Work:
- Perform line walks of newly installed piping and fixed equipment on behalf of the client, adhering to the client’s procedures and specifications.
- Inspect fixed equipment issued for installation, including tanks, vessels, heat exchangers, and drums.
- Conduct general inspections of valves, piping, steelwork, paintwork, nameplates, etc.
- Backfill hours will involve general inspection tasks
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with the client’s standards during inspections.
- Identify and report defects in mechanical installations.
- Perform inspections in confined spaces and at heights as required.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Certifications:
- API 510 (Pressure Vessel Inspector) or API 570 (Piping Inspector).
Experience:
- Working at height (training provided on-site, but prior experience preferred).
- Confined space awareness (ideal due to potential vessel entries).
- Painting/coatings (ability to spot defects, no formal tickets required).
- General welding knowledge (understanding of weld quality and heat tints).
