The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Gas and Diesel engines and a strong background in reciprocating compressors. You will be responsible for driving equipment and system availability while mitigating equipment degradation through maintenance planning and execution.

Purpose Statement:

The PGC - Rotating Equipment Engineer will ensure the safe and reliable operation of rotating equipment, focusing on both Gas/Diesel engines and reciprocating compressors. This includes maintaining a proactive approach to equipment degradation, supporting frontline operations, and developing maintenance plans for the short, medium, and long term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Monitoring: Oversee the performance of operational PGCs, with a special focus on Gas and Diesel engines and reciprocating compressors, ensuring they meet safety and reliability standards.
  • Site Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the operations team to support PGC package operations on-site, including gas turbines and diesel engine-driven systems.
  • Maintenance Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities align with our maintenance philosophy, UK safety, and environmental standards.

  • Record Maintenance: Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance records for rotating equipment, utilizing SAP to track plant history, especially for Gas and Diesel engines.
  • Spare Parts Management: Identify and manage the spare parts needed to maintain reliable production, including stock levels for reciprocating compressor and engine components, using SAP.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee vendor support to ensure work on engines and compressors is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This includes preparing RFQs, conducting technical bid evaluations, and maintaining vendor communications.
  • Systemic Issue Mitigation: Drive efforts to mitigate or eliminate factors affecting equipment availability, especially for Gas/Diesel engines and reciprocating compressors, recommending Management of Change (MOC) processes where necessary.
  • Failure Investigation & RCA: Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions to enhance reliability, particularly focusing on rotating equipment.
  • Procedural Review: Review and provide feedback on changes to operational procedures, manuals, P&ID’s, and other critical documents.
  • Risk Management: Assist in identifying and managing facility risks, ensuring robust risk mitigation processes related to critical rotating equipment.
  • Shutdown Preparation: Identify and help prepare for shutdown activities, particularly for reciprocating compressors and engines, ensuring they are executed safely and effectively.
  • Performance Standards Implementation: Support the delivery of safety-critical and routine maintenance in line with company performance standards.
