Job Title: HR Advisor

Location: Bridge View, Aberdeen

Duration: 6 months PAYE contract

Reports to: Senior HR Advisor

Main Purpose of Role:
As an HR Adviser, you will play a crucial role in partnering with various service lines, delivering strategic HR support that drives business impact. You will be responsible for building, developing, and retaining a high-performing and diverse workforce. Acting as a true business partner, you will ensure that HR initiatives are aligned with the organization’s objectives, and you will support leaders and employees throughout the full employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Partnering:
    • Develop strong working relationships with senior business leaders to understand their HR needs.
    • Align HR strategies with business objectives to ensure HR contributes effectively to overall success.
  • Service Excellence & Leadership:
    • Model and promote company values in all interactions.
    • Provide guidance to line managers, supporting their people management responsibilities to drive performance and employee engagement.
  • HR Advisory:
    • Offer professional, proactive HR advice and support to defined business areas, ensuring adherence to company standards and legal compliance.
    • Address complex employee relations issues, ensuring outcomes are in line with company values and employment legislation.
  • Change Management:
    • Lead key HR change projects, providing advice on people-related risks, compliance, and best practices.
    • Support and embed change initiatives within the business to drive successful outcomes.
  • Employee Relations & Absenteeism:
    • Manage and resolve complex employee relations cases, maintaining standards of fairness and compliance.
    • Handle long-term absenteeism cases, including medical referrals, and update the absence case log as needed.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management:
    • Manage the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, reward, performance management, talent management, and succession planning.
    • Administer onboarding, leaver processes, and employee changes in the HRIS system, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Organizational Support:
    • Support company-wide initiatives such as performance development reviews, employee opinion surveys, and talent management programs.
    • Lead redeployment processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment law.
  • Diversity & Inclusion:
    • Promote equality, diversity, and fairness across all employment practices.
    • Ensure HR processes and policies reflect the company's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Special Projects & Compliance:
    • Contribute to bids, due diligence, and transition activities, ensuring effective communication and legal compliance during TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment) exercises.

Person Specification:

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified and CIPD Chartered Member (or working towards Chartered status).
  • Strong working knowledge of Employment Law and complex case management.
  • Experience using and interpreting HR Metrics.

  • Effective coaching skills to guide managers and employees.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.

  • Proven experience in operational HR within a similar environment
