  • Dartford - DA1 (Must live within an hour of the postcode)
  • IR35: Inside
  • 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off)
  • 12-hour shifts: 6 AM to 6 PM rotation
  • Brand New Oppourtunity to work for a leading international infrastructure group that specialises in construction, engineering, and services, delivering large-scale projects across various sectors!

Our Client has a requirement for a Maintenance Technician (Electrics) who will be required to work on a temp tp perm basis in Dartford.

Role Purpose:

The successful candidate will join the team responsible for maintaining and operating the Dartford River Crossing and its associated infrastructure, focusing on low-voltage electronic systems, monitoring, and control equipment. You will also carry out planned and reactive maintenance within the Dartford estate as part of the team supporting M&E electronics.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain Plant Monitoring and Control Systems (SCADA, PLCs, I/O, and networking systems).
  • Maintain and troubleshoot various electronic equipment such as CCTV, incident detection systems, radio rebroadcast systems, telephone networks, fire alarms, and air monitoring within the Dartford River Crossing and other M25 tunnels.
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance within the Dartford estate on electronic systems and equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on traffic safety systems on the approach to the Dartford tunnels, including sensors, barriers, and traffic signals.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and carry out fault finding and repairs independently.
  • Complete records, such as daily worksheets and maintenance report sheets, to track and document work progress.
  • Perform manual, semi-skilled, and skilled tasks across various trades under the direction of the Shift Manager.
  • Drive maintenance vehicles as required and ensure that vehicles and drivers' logs are maintained according to company procedures.
  • Follow Health & Safety guidelines, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
  • Respond to incidents and clear hazards efficiently and safely, following company policies.
  • Support Connect Plus Services sustainability activities and promote a culture of safety and quality.
  • Take part in all duties required by the Line Managers and support the organisation's goals.

Experience Required:

  • Must live within 1 hour of DA1 postcode
  • Experience with low voltage electronic systems (up to 50 volts).
  • Knowledge of CCTV, fibre optic systems, IT systems, software, and phone lines.
  • Familiarity with SCADA, PLCs, and other monitoring systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics and technical drawings.
  • Previous experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic systems.
  • Level 3 qualification in M&E Electronics or equivalent.

Desirable Experience:

  • Degree or relevant qualification (e.g., City and Guilds in electrical/electronics).
  • Previous experience working in infrastructure environments, tunnels, or road systems
