Our Client has a requirement for a PLC/SCADA Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Cumbria.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Plan and prioritise own work to ensure that functional project requirements are on scope, time and cost are met
- Carry out testing of the PLC/SCADA code produced by others
- Carry out commissioning activities at client site as required, to ensure successful engineering handover
- Ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained
- Recognise and address potential and actual cross-discipline issues and conflicts so that overall engineering input to a project is coherent
- Develop own engineering experience and skills, moving towards the capability to move to a more senior role and towards professional qualification
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in appropriate discipline
- PLC/SCADA knowledge
- Substantial relevant experience, typically at least 4 years of experience in relevant project design work, is required to fully perform the role
- Previous experience of working with existing Sellafield plants / brown field sites is important, but not essential. The candidate should, however, have previous experience in a similar role.
- Can produce, check, and provide technical oversight of CE&I key deliverables documents / reports, calculations, schedules, drawings etc. to programme and appropriate quality
- Able to deliver to relevant standards, codes and regulations
- Capable of producing and being accountable for their own effective time management, planning activities, task estimates and progress reporting
