Hybrid working mostly remote with visits to Devonport and client office

Our Client has a requirement for a Design Manager – Buildings, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Plymouth.
Role Purpose:
To manage and oversee the multidisciplinary design elements of buildings, ensuring technical performance, compliance with safety requirements, and successful integration with other design packages.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Manage multidisciplinary building design elements, ensuring designer technical performance and resolving technical issues.
- Provide technical guidance and review design packages, including safety functional requirements.
- Oversee integration of designs with other packages and ensure documentation meets scope, standards, schedule, and budget.
- Contribute to project planning and implementation, addressing key technical and operational factors.
Experience Required:
- Proven high-level technical management of complex building projects.
- Experience in designing and constructing major industrial buildings (e.g., workshops, offices, storage).
- Beneficial: Experience in high-hazard facilities (e.g., nuclear, hospitals, X-ray facilities).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering (minimum).
- Preferred: Chartered Architect or Engineer registered with a relevant body.
- Ideally experienced in Nuclear, Defence, or other highly regulated industries.
