Role
Our Client has a requirement for a Principal Substantiation Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract or permament basis, working remotely with travel to Devonport once a week (expenses paid)
Role Purpose:
- To support the Design and Project Managers in the delivery of project scope
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Provision of delivery of Design Substantiation Reports (DSR) updates through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience
- Provide Subject Matter Expert advice on civil/structural engineering matters
- Ensuring effective Quality Management, delivering through compliance with the client’s Business Management System and Technical Manual
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in civil or structural engineering
- Strong technical authorship skills, ideally relating to the development and presentation of design substantiation
- Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements
- Good understanding of modern analysis techniques for concrete nuclear structures, ideally using finite element analysis
- Understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering activities through design, implementation and operation and with a core focus on safety
