Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Mechanical Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Warrington or Preston
Role Purpose:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer manages the delivery of engineering and technical activities by applying process expertise, domain knowledge, and experience. This role involves resolving technical issues, producing technical reports, mentoring team members, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
Job Role Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Engineer:
- Promote effective collaboration across engineering and functional teams.
- Manage customer relationships, ensuring clear communication and resolution of technical and delivery issues.
- Ensure compliance with relevant procedures, codes, and standards.
- Contribute to the Project Safety Assessment process.
- Communicate and manage task and project risks effectively.
- Produce, review, and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, and technical reports.
- Maintain engineering configuration, ensuring design integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support to Project Managers for planning, control, and delivery of tasks.
- Act as Technical Authority or Engineering Lead, where authorized.
- Uphold the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Support business development and tender requirements.
- Promote learning from experience (LfE) initiatives and engineering best practices.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
Essential:
- Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline, with significant demonstrable experience.
- Chartered Engineer status (or actively working toward it).
- Experience working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams across various project types.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with other disciplines.
Desirable:
- Membership in a relevant institute or significant engineering experience, capable of registration with the Engineering Council.
- Experience managing engineering scope for projects from concept design to full Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC).
- Breadth and depth of experience in commercial or defense projects.
