Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Clerk of Works to work for our client.
Key Details:
- Role: Mechanical Clerk of Works
- Location: Full-time site-based
- Contract Type: 12-month+ contract (Outside IR35)
- Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain SC clearance or already have this.
- Rate: Open and negotiable
Responsibilities:
- Oversee mechanical system installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Verify materials, workmanship, and equipment meet approved standards.
- Identify defects or non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and site progress.
- Coordinate with other trades to ensure proper integration of mechanical systems.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on mechanical system status.
- Support testing, commissioning, and final handover of mechanical systems.
Requirements:
- Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Mechanical Clerk of Works / NEC3 / NEC4 Supervisor.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and relevant building regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents.
- Problem-solving mindset with excellent decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
