Cyber Security Project Manager - Hybrid working in Stafford - 12 Month contract

Our Client has a requirement for a Cyber Security Project Manager, who will be required to work on a Contract basis in Stafford.

Role Purpose:

The Cybersecurity Project Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and management of various cybersecurity projects within the organization. This role will ensure that all cybersecurity initiatives are completed on time, within budget, and according to defined scope and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience along with a solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end project life cycles for cybersecurity initiatives, including planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT, security, compliance, and other departments, to achieve project objectives.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define project goals, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the course of the project.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential cybersecurity risks and develop strategies to mitigate them within the scope of the project.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and adjust project plans as necessary to minimize cybersecurity threats.
  • Cybersecurity Knowledge & Compliance:
  • Ensure that all cybersecurity projects comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and best practices to ensure the organization remains proactive in protecting sensitive data and systems.
  • Work closely with security teams to ensure that security requirements are integrated into the project lifecycle.

Resource Management:

  • Oversee the allocation and utilization of project resources (both human and technological) effectively.
  • Ensure that project teams have the necessary tools, training, and support to succeed in their roles

Project Reporting & Documentation:

  • Create and maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, timelines, budgets, and reports.
  • Provide regular status reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Track project performance and adjust strategies or timelines when necessary to meet deadlines.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that the final project outcomes meet the required cybersecurity standards and specifications.
  • Review deliverables for quality and accuracy before handoff to operational teams.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent cybersecurity certifications are preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years specifically focused on cybersecurity projects.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale cybersecurity initiatives or IT security projects.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Skills:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with project management tools oIn-depth knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
