First Recruitment Group Sponsor Warrington Festival RivFest17
25 Aug 2017
Warrington based business, First Recruitment Group, announced their sponsorship of local charity festival RivFest17 this week, with expected crowds of up to 5000 people. This annual festival was set up as part of the charity, the River Reeves Foundation, after Warrington band Viola Beach tragically died in a car accident last year. Coldplay famously played tribute to the band at last year’s Glastonbury by playing one of their songs.
Who, when, where?
The festival will take place on Saturday 2 September, from 12pm – 12am at Priestley College in Warrington, where all four band members attended. Bands such as Maximo Park, Billy Bragg, Eliza and the Bear and loads more will be preforming – click here to read about it.
Proceeds support local scholarships and education
First will be sponsoring the Main Screen, Family Performance Marquee and the Viola Beach Introducing Stage at the festival, with proceeds going to support this fantastic charity, helping provide financial support to young people in the arts, through scholarships and education. It will also provide mental health support for youngsters across Warrington’s schools as part of the Future in Mind initiative. Finally, following the terrible attack on the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, £1 of every ticket bought at the festival will be donated to the We Love Manchester emergency fund.
First’s CEO, John Urpi, said “On hearing about the festival, and the great work the charity plans to do in our local area with the proceeds, we felt we had to get involved. There is a real buzz around the charity and their passion for the project and we hope to help them move it to the next level.”
