Staff complete 4hr Olympic style relay for charity

19 Aug 2016

This Friday 16 members of staff completed a 4hr relay consisting of rowing, running and cycling to raise money for their chosen charities, at their head office in Warrington.

Inspired by the 2016 Rio Olympics and the fantastic success of team GB, First Recruitment Group decided to do a full morning of exercise in their in-house gym.

They had a choice of the treadmill, rower or bike and each person, regardless of ability, had to complete 15 minutes of continuous exercise before tagging the next person to start their turn. It even had that all important competitive element with prizes for the longest distances. One enthusiastic member of staff even took part while on his holiday’s, sending in a photo of him on the treadmill, along with his time and distance. Overall the group completed a massive 83.22km in total over all 3 machines.

First Recruitment are a health conscious company that encourages staff by providing them with free fruit, an in-house gym and cash back on health expenses, something our CEO, John Urpi, is very proud of.

He said, “Today has been a fantastic success. Our team really pulled together to encourage each other whilst competing to get the best distances. It’s great to bring the energy of the office into the gym for a change and of course raise some money for our charities.”

First Recruitment Group raised funds for both the Foundation for Peace and the Kamla Foundation who carry out valuable work locally, nationally and internationally.
